In 1988, Eckhart Construction, Inc. was founded by Mark Eckhart and Justin Avey in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The company was founded shortly after the development of Segmental Block Retaining Wall industry. The company began to grow and thrived in Chicago until 1992, when Mr. Eckhart sold his portion of the company to Mr. Avey.

Over the years, the company has operated out of Chicago and Atlanta, but in 1992, the Company moved and established its operations base in Charlotte, North Carolina where it resides today. Although the Company primarily performs all of its work in the southeast, the corporate office remains in Chicago.

In 2004, the company changed its name to Eckhart Construction Services, Inc. which is the name that we operate under today.

Throughout our history, we have installed retaining walls throughout the Midwest and Southern United States on highway, industrial, governmental, commercial, and residential projects. Although our primary territory is the Carolinas, we work in Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia as well.

We build all types of highway, commercial and residential retaining walls, including MSE panel walls, segmental block retaining walls, soil nail walls, multi-arch plate bottomless culverts with segmental block head walls, and reinforced slopes.

In addition, we have a fully equipped maintenance team who performs preventive maintenance and repairs for our entire fleet. We perform these maintenance tasks in both shop and field environments.
